VIYETT/HAMPTON YOGA CENTRE

HATHA YOGA/YIN YANG YOGA

NEW TO WEDNESDAY NIGHTS. YIN YANG YOGA

This class includes a variety of key yoga poses (asana), breath work (pranayama), relaxation (shavasana) and a short meditation. We will explore different themes each week, working on different areas of the body and various poses. I will be introducing some Yin style poses into the class to complement the more physical rhythmic Yang poses. Yin yoga works differently on the body to the traditional yoga poses (Yang style) of today. During a Yin pose the body is held for a longer length of time and the muscles are relaxed. They are normally all practiced down on the mat. Yin poses help us to learn tolerance and stillness in the moment. We learn how to surrender into a pose, which can also help us with our Yang practice to teach us not to over exert in the pose but to let go and surrender, thus not inhibiting the prana or energy flow through the body. You will create for yourself a stronger healthier body, leave feeling calmer and more relaxed and gain a deeper self awareness.
