All classes at Hampton Yoga Centre are conducted by highly qualified professional yoga teachers. We welcome students of all ages and from all religious, social and cultural backgrounds to attend our classes to gain the many benefits that yoga has to offer. Our aim is to create a harmonious, tranquil place where students can come to practice yoga and meditation in a non-competitive environment and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others through the teachings of yoga.
Like any other discipline you will not gain maximum benefits from the practice by taking one or two classes. Like any other healing modality the yoga practices will take some time to take effect before you will see the positive changes in your life that will ensue with regular practice.
It is helpful to attend at least 2 yoga classes per week especially in the beginning until you have learned enough to practice on your own at home. Maximum benefits will be achieved if the practitioner dedicates some time every day to practice some yoga.
At Hampton Yoga Centre we offer all of our new "Hatha Yoga" students an "unlimited yoga pass" for their first 10 weeks so they can gain maximum benefits from yoga and benefit from these valuable practices and teachings. New students will also receive a "free" yoga mat so they can practice in the comfort of their own home.

I want to attend my first yoga class what do I need to do? You can telephone or email us to let us know you are coming to class or you can simply arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class and register for the classes at reception.
What type of clothing is appropriate to wear to a yoga class? Clothing should be loose and comfortable allowing for maximum comfort and ease of movement.
Are there any other restrictions? Students are advised not to eat a large meal for 2-3 hours prior to commencing their class.
What do I need to bring to class?
Once you have taken out a ten week yoga pass all you need to bring to class is your yoga mat. If you attend a casual class and do not have a yoga mat you can hire one at reception for a small fee.
During the hot summer months you might like to bring a hand towel or some water with you. During the winter months you might like to make sure you have enough warm clothing and a pair of socks.
Do I need any special footwear? No, you do not need any footwear as yoga is done with bare feet.
What is the average age group of people doing yoga? People of all ages attend yoga classes there are no restrictions on age. Some classes are more gentle than other classes and students may find that certain classes may be more suitable for them. So students are encouraged to take advantage of our fair policies and try different classes or you may like to speak to the teacher who can recommend the right class for you.
What happens if I cannot attend my regular weekly class? If you cannot make your regular class time you can attend any other class during the week to make up classes or you can make them up at any time as long as your pass is valid.
Other information. Women are advised not to perform inverted asanas during the time of menstruation. Ask your teacher for more information on this.
